Marianne McLelland Hudson

Leukemia Drive

Marianne, 33, a life long area resident and well-loved Coweta County young mother, was diagnosed with leukemia in January 2003.  Marianne was in Houston since September where she underwent a bone marrow transplant surgery.  Marianne and her husband Lee have a 3-year old daughter, Sydney.  Before her illness, she was a part time reading teacher at White Water Middle School in Fayetteville, GA.

There have been several setbacks and triumphs along the way, but the story of Marianne and her progress has captured the hearts of many.  Insurance has helped tremendously but as a result of her extended care out of town, traveling expense, living supplies, groceries, and associated medical costs have exhausted her family financially.

Sadly, Marianne’s fight for her life came to an end in the early morning hours of February 1st 2004, a year and a day after her initial diagnoses. In spite of this, the family has urged us to continue going forward with the last fundraiser as planned. Lee and Sydney, along with the McLelland’s and Fuller’s need our love and support now more than ever. The family still has many bills to pay, as this difficult year has been a strain both emotionally as well as financially. Please make plans to attend the fundraiser event. It will be a positive and uplifting tribute to Marianne’s life!
